NEWS
We're on Facebook!
Want to show your Oh My Gods! love on Facebook? Wait no more! Now there is a page for Oh My Gods! and a page for Shivian — feel free to “become a fan“ of both, and share them with everyone you know!
Get Satisfaction!
Oh My Gods! just got it’s own Get Satisfaction site! Huzzah! Now simply go to getsatisfaction.com/ohmygods to leave comments, feedback, suggestions, and whatever else you’d like! There is also a tab on the left called “Feedback” you can use, as well as a link in the menu on the right. So go for it! I’ll be checking it, so feel free to use it to help Oh My Gods! grow!
Deepest apologies for the vacation
Welcome back everyone! I see many faces I remember and tons more new to me! Welcome back veterans and glad to have you newbies!
My deepest apologies for the strip’s long vacation. To not get into much detail, thankfully my feet are back underneath me again and I’m hopefully in a place where I can create the strip on a regular basis again. Currently there is a (huge) void in the strip (from August 4th to November 3rd) – I will try to refill this with content, but I do not want to promise what I am unsure I can deliver. If I do, you’ll be the first to know!
In the Works - Oh My Gods! Hardcover
While it's not ready to be finalized yet, I wanted to let all you lovely fans know about a special project I am working on. I am going to create an Oh My Gods! Special Edition Hard Cover book of the first Five Years of the strip. It will be pretty! It will be fantastic! It will (sadly) also be very expensive! However, I know there will be at least one customer (me) and perhaps maybe more!
Just wanted to give you all a tease!

Okay that's an attitude I
Okay that's an attitude I can't stand. New Pagan tries to check on information and gets snark instead of good information.
Is it any wonder many new people in paganism tend to avoid teachers?
Phoning in
I have never seen Shivian have someone on the phone who was really seeking knowledge, only people who saw too many episodes of _Charmed_ and think they know about crafting. Someone seeking actual information would probably phrase the questions differently.
If you want non-snarky answers, there is one character who will be happy to oblige. Fundie =)
The experiment has begun. One million keyboards, one million monkeys. Welcome to the world wide web.
On the Contrary...
Sure, there's a little snark there, but the actual content of the advice is sound (that tea IS used in herbal medicine to help with throat infections). Also, it is clear from "I was looking at the cover of Silver Ravenwolf's new book" that:
1. The caller has not ACTUALLY read the book, just the cover
2. The caller therefore taking advice on herbal remedies from liner notes and is therefore a candidate for a Darwin Award.
Let's be honest, an attitude that lets the questioner know that their question was ridiculous to begin with is a time-tested teaching tool and, in most cases in Oh My Gods!, the caller really NEEDS to be told that they are asking stupid questions.
(also, ooooo, I made aliteration! yay!)
Found it!
I found the aliteration! yayyy
... Took me a moment.
It's not so much a snark...
As a joke. Grow a sense of humour, or don't read webcomics, imo.
Ah...
The new Silver Ravenwolf 'Book'...this woman knows nothing about hedgewitchcraft...sorry bitching over =] xXx
Why apologize?
The more people who point out the nonsense that gets published, the better, I say. We must be just as quick and effusive with praise when someone does well, of course, or else we'll discourage the wrong people.
In Question

The plant referenced on the cover / in the strip: http://en.wikip...
Great Scott!
I have finished reading all the comics!
Silver
Unfortunately, I know many people who read her work and think she's the best author when it comes to that stuff.
Maybe we should all name her the Antiwitch, hey if the Christians can have an Antichrist, why not? LOL, just kidding.
I do have a serious problem with her books though, I honestly feel she's nothing more than a cult leader in hiding sometimes. She's right up there with Fiona Horne in my book, which is titled "Dangerous Witches & The Danger They Spread." Ha!

Silver and Raymond
Hey, if we're claiming her the Antiwitch we might as well throw Raymond Buckland and his blue book on the fire as well. Perhaps his title could be the AntiPagan? Or just simply capitalist opportunist. I'd have to say I get the same feeling as you do, Dragonwolf, about Silver's books...as well as Raymond's. Then again, anything can get published nowadays.
