Get Satisfaction!
Oh My Gods! just got it’s own Get Satisfaction site! Huzzah! Now simply go to getsatisfaction.com/ohmygods to leave comments, feedback, suggestions, and whatever else you’d like! There is also a tab on the left called “Feedback” you can use, as well as a link in the menu on the right. So go for it! I’ll be checking it, so feel free to use it to help Oh My Gods! grow!
Deepest apologies for the vacation
Welcome back everyone! I see many faces I remember and tons more new to me! Welcome back veterans and glad to have you newbies!
My deepest apologies for the strip’s long vacation. To not get into much detail, thankfully my feet are back underneath me again and I’m hopefully in a place where I can create the strip on a regular basis again. Currently there is a (huge) void in the strip (from August 4th to November 3rd) – I will try to refill this with content, but I do not want to promise what I am unsure I can deliver. If I do, you’ll be the first to know!

I took this online quiz once called "What religion fits you?" on this website called tickle, and i've taken it three times. The first time it said i was pagan, but then when i took it again a year later, it said U.U.! I was thinking to myself, wtf, so i took it again and it said the same thing. i think it is seriously screwed up.
-->He is YOUR god, they are YOUR rules, YOU burn in hell!<--

What is this website. I'd like to check it out.
its tickle
you go to web.tickle.com and sign up. you use your email as your username and you have a password, then when you take quizzes it saves your results and the date you took it. they even have an IQ test. they say it's PhD certified.
-->He is YOUR god, they are YOUR rules, YOU burn in hell!<--
me too. =o
It always tells me I'm pagan too. xp My mom too, even though she's kinda christiany.

????
I've never met a Unitarian, are they really like this?
Ugh.
NO, we are not like this! Do not believe everything that Shivian depicts in his comics. I really think Shivian needs to learn a little bit more about UUism, honestly.
Though I will admit, we can be pretty crazy.
Shivian takes things to
Shivian takes things to extremes to show the comedy factor of things that seem odd, he is probably well aware that unitarians arent the borg but its much funnier that way. The same way not all ceremonial magicians are like marcus annd not all gays are like stan. Its a comic not real life, comics are more important.

of course UUs arent all like this, do u think all Asatru heathens are like the funthark kids?
Rider of the North,
Josh
Ooh Ooh
I took that test too. I also got Unitarian.. The website is called tickle. If you were to go to goog;e and type in tickle tests it would come up. :)
I wish peanuts could talk....
UUism
You can be pagan and UU at the same time and many pagan beliefs are close to the beliefs of many UUs so just because the test said UU and not pagan doesn't mean it was completely off. Unitarian Universalism is a very different religion from most because there is nothing you really have to believe to be called a UU aside from maybe the seven principles. If anyone would like more information about UUism, you can find some here: http://www.uua.... and if anyone would like information about CUUPS, you can find that here: http://www.cuup... . Anyway, I love this comic. That is definitely something a UU would say. In fact, I think I've heard a few say similar things before.
Blessed Be,
Panda
heyyy
I was gonna say that! I've been to the UU church near me. One of my friends goes. I didn't get much out of it spiritually, but they're pretty liberal, which is cool.
)O( Blessed Be! )O(
Some aren't so bad...
Like any other faith it depends on the group. Upside is, it is REALLY hard to be a militant Universal Unitarian (though I met once once... nutter...).
its weird
i dont think i have ever met a unitarian in Ireland.....
CUUPS
I tried a CUUPS chapter once until they protested the war in Iraq by blocking traffic on the busiest street in my small town. I was like protest, fine but blocking traffic, you're gonna get yourself killed.
Although it was humorus when a group started protesting the protesters. People started bringing lawn chairs and sitting on the unused corners to watch the show.
Sad but true
Sad but true.
UUs & Quiz
Yes... there are many UUs far worse... I should know, being a UU myself. We're an odd lot.
Also... other than tickle, the beliefnet quiz is a good one... asks good questions: http://www.beli...

Your Results:
The top score on the list below represents the faith that Belief-O-Matic, in its less than infinite wisdom, thinks most closely matches your beliefs. However, even a score of 100% does not mean that your views are all shared by this faith, or vice versa.
Belief-O-Matic then lists another 26 faiths in order of how much they have in common with your professed beliefs. The higher a faith appears on this list, the more closely it aligns with your thinking.
How did the Belief-O-Matic do? Discuss your results on our message boards.

hmm
So, with tickle, I got:
"your belief system is best suited to religions that value solitary rituals.
Your score shows that you share core beliefs with a religion that encourages highly personal expressions of spirituality.
You are attracted to a religion that encompasses a huge diversity of beliefs and a highly personal relationship with nature and its cycles. You are attracted to spiritual groups that are composed of people who primarily worship in solitude, creating rituals of personal significance in an expression of their own highly individual spirituality."
And, with the Belief-O-Matic (I LOVE that name), I got:

Yes, I am Bi, No, I will not sleep with you!
Unitarians
Shivian makes fun of Unitarians a LOT, and while I believe in learning to laugh at yourself, I find myself getting offended a fair bit. I don't see the coming together of a great many people of various religious beliefs as any sort of "amalgamation". I don't see why UUs are so looked down upon by non-UU pagans, because it isn't like we're forcing you to join us and we certainly never belittle the practices of non-UU pagans. I will admit, though, that the comment in a previous comment about having to meet around a pot of coffee is VERY true. My Spiritualist mother always said, "Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, UUs gotta meet."
I don't think it's personal....
Actually, you might be interested in knowing that Shivian's constant jokes about UUs intrigued me enough to research them a bit more, and increased my general knowledge of their beliefs (even though I don't particularly agree with all of them). I commonly find myself doing this when I go through the webcomic....I find an aspect of another belief structure that I am not familiar with, and I feel obligated to learn more. Not to gainsay or to convert, simply to understand. I find myself laughing at the gay jokes as much as the UU jokes, and a good portion of my family (cousins, uncles, etc.) are gay....although I don't see my uncle cursing his partner like Stan and Vincent do, I giggle, because I can bet it's playing in the little movie in their head. Just like "Fundie" is simply a (sometimes) over-dramatic representation. While none of these characters may win the poster-child award for any of their beliefs, I think it's the extreme quality of their stance on said beliefs which makes it funny. Like how I am Asian, so everyone assumes I am good at computers, bow at the waist every time someone enters the room, and know how to perform a tea ceremony.....none of which are true. Yet I still threaten to welcome people into my home with a "Herro, herro!"
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

It's good to see so many
It's good to see so many people scoring highly on the Quakerism (due to my inherent Quaker bias, that is). Of course that's liberal Quakerism, but in my experience, in Britain, there aren't that many of what that quiz calls 'Orthodox Quakers'.
Interestingly, though, I scored highest on UU, then Humanist, then Quaker, followed by the pagan streak that get me reading this :P
