Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I link to the Oh My Gods! site from mine?
A: Yes, you are more then welcome to link to the Oh My Gods! site from wherever you please! Just be sure not to do so using ANY Oh My Gods! images that you have not gotten express written consent from Shivian for. However, feel free to download and use the official link back buttons and banner, available here.

Q: Can I use Oh My Gods! images to link to your site?
A: No. Without the express written consent of Shivian you are not permitted to use any Oh My Gods! images (title bar, characters, etc) on any site. The only images you may use from the Oh My Gods! are the official link back buttons and banner, available here.

Q: Is this site secure?
A: Yes, the Oh My Gods! website (like any on the timerift.network) is secure. Your personal information is protected and we do not share any of your information with third parties unless required by law.

Q: I see the same strip every day. Why?
A: Oh My Gods! is updated semi-daily (dependent on the schedule of it’s creator, Shivian). Sometimes there is a glitch in the site and a new comic doesn’t come up, but this is often temporary. However, if this is something you experience frequently it may be because of the way some browsers and servers cache the images that they receive. It’s possible that you are seeing a local copy again and again instead of getting the updated strip from the site.

This site has done everything possible on it’s end to solve the problem for most users, but here are a few more things you can try:

  1. Click on the strip itself to load just the daily strip onto your screen.
  2. Click on your reload button to get a fresh copy of everything on the screen.
  1. Clear your disk cache, then quit and restart your browser.

Q: What’s with all the advertisements on your e-mail and Web Site? Can’t you just get rid of them?
A: It’s with advertising that Oh My Gods! exists and remains. Currently, ads are being handled by outside firms that rotate them from their sites, so the timerift.network doesn’t see the ads prior to their rotation on the sites. The timerift.network does it’s best, however, to monitor the advertisements to maintain an enjoyable user experience.

Q: I really want to print an Oh My Gods! strip in my newsletter / magazine / newspaper, how do I do that?
A: Yes, there is! To further answer this question and possibly sign up for syndication rights of a single strip or daily syndication, go here.

Q: Is there any way to have Oh My Gods! on my website?
A: Depending on your website it’s entirely possible! Go here to learn more about it!

Q: I want to link to your site using a Oh My Gods! graphic. Is this OK? How about putting a selection of strips with the same filename so I can include a continuously updating strip on a web page? I’m thinking of an automated HTML writer that would generate links to Oh My Gods! strips.
A: Please do not use any material from Oh My Gods! on any site other than the official link icons. Taking material from the Oh My Gods! site and displaying / uploading it on another page without permission violates Shivian’s copyrights, along with those of the timerift.network. Please do not use any Oh My Gods! comic strips or panels, graphics, or text without Shivian’s approval. You can download an official icon and use it as a link to our site and provide your readers with access to the site. Oh My Gods! also provides cursors and wallpapers for your personal enjoyment, but like the official icons we ask that you do not copy or make other uses of them, nor upload them to another site.

Q: How often does the strip update?
A: The strip and website update as often as they can. Shivian is doing the website and strip and paying for it all out of pocket. And while he certainly doesn’t resent it at all (in fact it’s often referred to as one of the jewels of his life) he sometimes cannot update due to school and other life commitments. Don’t worry however, new strips are always in the works and there will always be a strip for every day, even if that strip is posted late.
